Science Class came to an end.

We have been involved in a homeschool co-op. We get together with other families on Thursday and we do art, science and Art of Eloquence (AOE). AOE is a speech class which teaches the kids to say what they mean and mean what they say. Next week Alicia, Ashton , Autumn and Aubrey will be finishing AOE with a persuasive speech. I will be blogging about that next week. (hopefully)....
We were studying Apologia's Exploring Creation: Land animals of the sixth day. Throughout the past 18 weeks we learned about most animals from spiders to dinosaurs and lizards to horses. It has been an amazing adventure into Gods amazing Creation. For our last assignment the kids all got to work together to make a zoo. Here are some pictures of Aubrey, Jayda and Joey with their zoo groups.

Aubrey's group was really into horses and monkeys so they have a horse zone that Aubrey and her friend are working on. The other girls are making monkey enclosures. They had tons of fun with this.

In this picture Jayda is hard at work with the blue tape. She is making a watering hole for snakes to live in. She is so funny, during this whole class her favorite thing was when another mom brought in a corn snake. She keeps asking for one....

Joey's group, being mostly boys made the funnest playground. It has a working swing and if you can see the papertowel roll that is tilted down. That is a tube slide. After making the zoo's playground they went to work on some fun animal enclosures.

The best part of the whole time today was watching them all work together. If you can believe it there was no argueing over creative differences. Another thing that brought joy to my heart was that this is a group of 6th graders all the way to Kindergarteners and they all only spoke kind words to eachother. I am grateful for this because a 6 year olds version of an animal enclosure is a lot different from an 11 year olds. This is a great group of kids. It is kind of sad to think that we are done......
