Ice Skating

We've finally moved into a new home. We're renting a house in Huntsville. All around us we can see Gods creation. There are deer in our neighbors yard each night, a weasel of some sort lives in the field next to our house. Mountains covered with snow are the view from my back windows.This picture doesn't really do justice, but this is our backyard.

However the thing that has my kids most excited is the free ice sheet in the park. As soon as its cold enough the city floods the park and maintains the ice sheet. We can rent skates across the street for $2 but we are on the lookout for some skates to purchase. This is a picture of the ice sheet. The first time we went we were the only people on the ice. We had tons of fun.

Ashton is a natural ice skater. He was all over the ice. We all tried to keep up with him but the only one who came close was Alicia. With a little more practice I hope to be doing some laps around the ice with him.

Autumn had so much fun. She was a little shakey at first but got the hang of it pretty quick. By the time we were leaving she was able to slide across the ice on one foot.

Alicia had taken ice skateing lessons when she was a little girl and apparently it's like riding a bike. She looked beautiful gliding on the ice. She even became our family teacher and had Aubrey, Jayda and Joey skating in no time. I didn't get any pictures of Aubrey and Jayda skating. Below is a picture of Alicia teaching Joey to stay upright on the ice.
